Position Summary: Drab to Fab is a modern, eco-friendly landscape design & construction contractor serving San Diego County. We have completed over 400 projects since our founding in August 2020 and are looking to continue our rapid growth with key hires that can grow alongside the company. The Landscape Construction Foreman will be an integral component of our growth plan.

This is a full-time salaried, exempt position with annual compensation between $65,000 - $90,000, with a yearly bonus structure.

Key Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The following essential duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned as determined by the company.

  • Working directly with the Landscape Project Manager to oversee landscape construction.

  • Scheduling and oversight of field crews.

  • Communication with the Landscape Project Manager about project costs and construction schedules.

  • Oversight of landscape installation crews to ensure technical correctness and adherence to design intent.

  • Communicating with the Landscape Project Manager and landscape construction field crews.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Complete knowledge of landscape installation methods.

  • Complete knowledge of drip and conventional spray irrigation.

  • Timer and valve wiring and programming for all major brands of irrigation products.

  • Drainage including erosion control.

  • Ability to operate a skid steer and mini-excavator.

  • Proper tree and plant care, knowledge of soil types and amendments.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Clean DMV record – ability to drive a company truck when needed.

  • Experience running a crew.

  • Physically able to work along-side crew members.

  • Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications: Required:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in landscape construction.

  • Social security number & ability to pass I9 verification.

  • Driver's license or reliable transportation.

  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures, codes and standards of conduct, ethics, attendance, and professional appearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work to be performed mostly outdoors on various sites throughout San Diego County.

  • Environment can be hot.

  • Applicants must be in good physical condition and able to perform physical operations requiring but not limited to sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and carrying of tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Pre-Employment Screening: After a phone screening and one-way video interview, successful candidates will be invited to participate in in-person interview(s).

  • The candidate must be able to pass pre-employment testing, criminal and civil background investigations, employment verification, and physical/drug screens. We do not screen for cannabis/marijuana.

Employee Benefits (Eligibility begins after 60 days of full-time employment averaging 32+ hours/week, with some benefits for part-time employees averaging 20+ hours/week):

  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental & vision insurance with 75% company-paid premiums for full-time employees averaging 32+ hours/week and 50% for part-time employees averaging 20+ hours/week.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrue 40 hours of PTO per year on a monthly basis.

  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.

  • Education Assistance: Tuition reimbursement for the Cuyamaca College Ornamental Horticulture program (or similar local horticulture/construction program), including all fees, books, and parking.

Compensation:

  • Annual pay: $65,000 - $90,000, with a yearly bonus structure.
